Tencent QQ--one of the most popular instant messaging softwares in China

Monday, January 31, 2011
This is my first time to update our blog :-) I'm Jing, and I am very pleased to be the member of our group.

The topic of our lecture today is Same Time Interaction. In this lecture, we learned about a lot of examples of synchronous interaction, such as IRC,IM,SMS and Video. In this article, I would like to intruduce a popular instant messaging software in China--Tencent QQ.

QQ was developed by Tencent Inc, and the lastest version of QQ is QQ2011 Beta1. You can download this software from the website: http://im.qq.com/qq/all.shtml. QQ not only provides the instant messaging service, but also has variety of features, such as chatrooms, games, internet storage, and e-mail services.
There is no consensus whether QQ is good or not in China. Some users think that QQ is very good software, because of its variety of features and esay-to-use interface. But the other users often complain that QQ provieds fewer free services and more annoying advertisements.

In 2008, QQ began to expand its services internationally, working with partners, such as ibibo and AOL.
